Whirlwind Productions is a small independent film production company set up by former BBC journalist and producer Gail Downey. 
 

“My interest in Nose Art and the Mighty Eighth began while researching a programme for The History Channel. I was concerned the veterans were becoming fewer and fewer so self-funded a trip to the USA and interviewed the Nose Art artist Don Allen, who was based in the UK and other crew members who had nose art on their aircraft.

 

“So far I have a short film with Don which is on YouTube and have also managed to pull together a nine minute promotional film but need support and sponsorship to complete the film for 2012.
